DETAILS OF WRITTEN CSS EXAMS

Central Superior Services Pakistan (CSS) is one of the most toughest and technical exam in the Pakistan held by the FPSC Once in the year to select officers on the BPS/17.

TYPES OF EXAMS

  1. Written exam
  2. Medical
  3. psychological
  4. Viva voice

WRITTEN EXAMS

1.The examination will include the following subjects and each subject will carry the marks in front of it.

2.The Question Papers in Urdu or other Pakistani regional languages (Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto and Balochi), Persian and Arabic should be answered in the respective languages. However, question relating with translation from respective language into English or vice versa may be answered as directed in the question paper. The question paper in Islamic Studies or Comparative Study of Major Religions is to be answered in English or Urdu only. All other papers must be answered in English unless otherwise directed in the Question Paper. Contravention of these instructions will result in the cancellation of the papers and award of ZERO marks in the paper(s) concerned.

What are the CSS compulsory subjects ?

There are 6 compulsory subjects for CSS written exam. These are followings with there respected Marks in front of each subject.

COMPULSORY SUBJECTS OF CSS EXAM 600 Marks

  • Essay writing in English 100 Marks
  • English Precie and Composition 100 Marks
  • Pakistan affairs 100 Marks
  • Currents affairs 100 Marks
  • General Knowledge or science & ability 100 Marks
  • Islamic Studies 100 Marks

NOTE

ALL THE COMPULSORY EXAMS SHOULD BE CLEARED BY 50% MARKS WHICH ARE THE MINIMUM FOR GETTING THE QUALIFICATION TO INTERVIEW .

What are the optional subjects for CSS?

There are almost 7 groups for the candidates to select each of part for CSS exams.

Group 1 = To select 200 marks only

Group 3= To get100 Marks

  • Business Administration 100 Marks
  • Public Administration 100 Marks
  • Governance & Public Policies 100 Marks
  • Town Plannig & Urban Management 100 Marks

Group 4= To get 100 Marks

  • History of Pakistan & India
  • Islamic History & culture
  • British history
  • European History
  • History of USA

Group 5= To get 100 Marks

  • Gender Studies 100 Marks
  • Gender Studies 100 Marks
  • Agriculture & Forestry 100 Marks
  • Agriculture & Forestry 100 Marks

Group 6= To get 100 Marks

  • Law 100 Mark for each subject given below

Group 7= To get 100 Marks for each subject given below

  • Journalism & Mass Communication

NOTE ;

there must be 30% minimum marks of the CSS candidate in the Optional Subjects.But compulsory subjects should have 50% marks to pass the exams and go for interview

INTERVIEW

It is said by the FPSC that after clearing the CSS exam (written) candidates called by the head office to take interview of each student.
